{"id":1268,"date":"2014-09-21T17:12:29","date_gmt":"2014-09-21T15:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/?p=1268"},"modified":"2014-09-21T20:51:52","modified_gmt":"2014-09-21T18:51:52","slug":"installing-moodle-2-6-on-11-host","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/installing-moodle-2-6-on-11-host\/","title":{"rendered":"Installing moodle 2.6 on 1&#038;1 Host"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/index.php\/2014\/installing-moodle-2-6-on-11-host\/moodle-logo\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1269\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1269\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/moodle-logo.png\" alt=\"moodle-logo\" width=\"204\" height=\"61\" \/><\/a>As for now (September 2014), 1&amp;1 still use Mysql server 5.1.73.You can&#8217;t use Moodle 2.7 because it need Mysql server 5.5.31.<\/p>\n<p>First, you need to go to <a title=\"https:\/\/download.moodle.org\/releases\/supported\/\" href=\"https:\/\/download.moodle.org\/releases\/supported\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/download.moodle.org\/releases\/supported\/ <\/a>and download <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the lastest 2.6 version of moodle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Decompress it on your htdocs directory and create a new directory at htdocs root : moodledata.<\/p>\n<p>Protect the moodledata dir by putting inside a little .htaccess file that contain :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>order deny,allow<br \/>\ndeny from all<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then chmod 700 moodledata<\/p>\n<p>Edit file moodle\/install.php with nano. Search with Ctrl-W for &#8220;dataroot_insecure&#8221;. Then change &#8220;while(is_dataroot_insecure()) {&#8221; to &#8220;while(FALSE) {&#8221; two times.<\/p>\n<p>Go to : &#8220;www.mywebsite.com\/moodle\/&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Choose your newly created datadir &#8220;\/homepages\/xx\/xxxxxxxxxxxx\/htdocs\/moodledata&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Some time after, configure your database like this :<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/index.php\/2014\/installing-moodle-2-6-on-11-host\/moodledbconfig\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1272\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1272\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/moodledbconfig.png\" alt=\"moodledbconfig\" width=\"588\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/moodledbconfig.png 588w, https:\/\/www.gistlabs.net\/weblogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/moodledbconfig-300x187.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><\/a>The hard part is done. Just continue to the end of the installation.<\/p>\n<p>Do not forget to renew your : &#8221; chmod 700 moodledata&#8221; because moodle put 777 on it. Silly moodle !<\/p>\n<p>Ooh no ! It&#8217;s still not working at all ..\u00a0 No icons in moodle, dead menu links !!!<\/p>\n<p>Log into Moodle and go there directly with the URL:<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/yourserver\/admin\/settings.php?section=http<\/p>\n<p>Untick the top box for slash arguments and save.
