Paul JACQUAYS
BA in Art from Spring Arbor College and 21+ years of hands on fantasy and SF illustration since 1976. Began carreer by publishing a Dungeons & Dragons fanzine called THE DUNGEONEER in '76. Worked for Judges Guild after college as anartist/game designer (created DARK TOWER and CAVERNS OF THRACIA). WentFreelance (cowrote GRIFFIN MOUNTAIN for RUNEQUEST) then landed a job as a game designer at Coleco Industries in 1980.
Worked on games like TABLE TOP PAC*MAN, TABLE TOP DONKEY KONG, and countless COLECOVISION/ADAM arcade conversions. Co-designed the WARGAMES ColecoVision game. Left Coleco as Director of Game Design when they shut down the softwaregroup.Worked as Director of Product Development for Penguin Products for about a year.
Went Freelance, and designed 4x4 OFF ROAD RACING for Epyx and LORD OF THE RINGS vol 1. for Interplay. Wrote and edited a number of DUNGEONS &DRAGONS and AD&D adventure game products for TSR, Inc. Illustrated games and books for several paper game companies. Created the CENTRAL CASTING line of character history creation books. Joined TSR, Inc. in 1993 as a staff cover illustrator. Spent about 5 months as Director of Graphics at TSR in 1995. Designed the look for the DRAGON DICE icons and did the icons for most of the game expansion packs. He was recruited into id Software in early 1997.
